In 1969, after 2 years at Dearborn Assembly, he took a position at the Automotive Assembly Division's headquarters in Allen Park, MI as a process engineer. During the day he worked for Ford as an engineer and at night attended law school at Wayne State University. He graduated in June of 1974. In February of 1975, Peter opened the first private law office in Canton, MI. After completing a full day at Ford, he would at night attend to his law practice in Canton. At that time, he did a general practice. In 1977, he accepted a position at Ford's World Headquarters as an analyst in Labor Relations Staff, Workers Compensation Department. It was here he got his background in this area of law. In July of 1983, he left Ford to devote himself full time to the private practice of law. Eventually, he limited his practice to workers compensation and social security disability cases exclusively. He is a member since 1974 of the State Bar of Michigan and is a member of the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association. HONORS In 1997, Peter was appointed to the Professional Hockey Players Association (PHPA) advisory panel of worker compensation attorneys and to represent their members in Michigan. Their members included players on the Detroit Vipers, Kalamazoo K-Wings and Grand Rapids Griffins. His reputation in handling minor league hockey worker compensation cases has led to referrals of worker compensation cases involving Detroit Tiger and Detroit Red Wing players. In 2002, he was named the PHPA advisory panel's "Attorney of the Year." |
